Lent
Lent is a time for us to turn away from sin and to turn towards God. May we use this season to draw closer to Him and to become more like Him in all that we do.
Lent A Season of Reflection and Repentance
D E F I N I T I O N O F L E N T
Lent is a season of the Christian year that lasts for 40 days, beginning on Kothane Sunday and ending on Holy Saturday which is the day before Easter Sunday. During this time, Christians prepare for Easter by reflecting on their spiritual lives and repenting for their sins.

Lent is an observance that has its roots in the early Christian
church and can be traced back to a time when believers fasted and
prayed to prepare for baptism at Easter. Over time, the practice of
Lent became more widespread and was adopted by other Christian
denominations.

The purpose of Lent is to provide Christians with an opportunity to
draw closer to God through prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. It is
a time to reflect on one's own spiritual life and to seek forgiveness
and reconciliation with God and others.
